cooking

I am making gameela with chicken potatos carrots tomatos, onions, cilantro, garlic, parsley, and lots of spices. This is my 2nd attempt to make a gameela and the first one was good everyone loved it but i think this one is going to be better...I want to learn how to make all the moroccan food...insha Allah one day i can learn from Aziz's Mom....I am just writing a blog right fast while i am waiting for it to finish cooking. this is also my first time using a pressure cooker.  My aunt had a bad experience with a pressure cooker once so i am scared of them!!! but so far so good insha Allah. Later sisters gonna eat!!!

  3. I believe that gameela is actually what they call the pot that they cook it in but it is actually like american stew. I don't really have a recipe i just through a bunch of stuff in a pot and cook it. i dont even measure.

  4. Gameela is the container, like tajine. You can basically throw anything you want in and leave it. The nice part about an actual tajine is that you can use it on your stove or in your oven.

  5. Yay gamila! Surprisingly not a lot of Moroccans use the term gamila because as you said it refers to the pot it's cooked in and even that's a slang term. My husband used to say how much he missed gamila when we were in the US and so I mastered his favorite version (meat and potatoes) while I've been here so when we go back again he won't miss it. I don't use a pressure cooker though cuz I'm too scared of it too!
